Overview

Humla- Nyinba Valley to Raling Gompa Trek ,Humla is known as the gateway to Mansarovar and Mt.  i While the Ninnba Valley is an ancient Tibetan village that reflects the culture and traditions of Buddhism dating back to the 18th century.

Raling Gompa at the bottom of Crystal Mountain is a major tourist attraction and a delightful place to visit the Nininba Valley in Humla is an old Tibetan village, home to some of the oldest Buddhist traditions and local customs of daily life.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu.

• The journey starts with your arrival in the capital of the country, Kathmandu. The city is the right perfect combination of culture and heritage with enthralling views of the distant mountains. Explore the UNESCO World Heritage sights and indulge in a great time with the locals. Enjoy the finest and most authentic Nepalese cuisine in Kathmandu and stroll around the marketplaces to experience a great time. Stay the night in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Flight Nepalgunj-Simikot (2980 m); walk to Buraunse (3200 m) via Buraunse Gompa (3430 m) 3 ½ hrs

The journey to Buraunse will be via Nepalgunj and Simikot and finally a walking journey from Simikot. Enjoy the headquarters of the Humla district, Simikot which beautifully located in the midst of the Himalayas. The trail from here takes you through the Limbuk village before finally taking you to Pungrikar.Enjoy the route along the vivid landscapes to reach the Buraunse Gompa, and explore the region around the gompa. From here start walking towards the small Tibetan village of Buraunse, which is surrounded by farming fields of millet and barley. Spend the night in Buraunse.

Day 3: Buraunse (3,200 meters/10,498 feet) to Nimatang (3,325 meters/10,908 feet).

Start the day following the trail to reach Langdu village that offers incredible views of the Crystal Mountain and Changla Himal. The trail forward will take you to the Thorpa village through beautiful mani walls and small stupas. Follow the trail for 2 more hours through the Hutick village to finally reach the Kangni (gate stupa) that welcomes you to the beautiful Nimatang village. Spend the night in Nimatang.

Day 4: Nimatang (3,325 meters/10,908 feet) to Raling Gompa (3,930 meters/12, 893 feet).

• The journey starts early through the thin Pine and Juniper forests to take you to Ghatte Khola. Follow the trail forward towards Raling Gomba, the walk allows you compelling views on all sides, you will get to witness the entire Nyimba Valley, the Changla range in the southeast, the Ribuche mountain in the south-west, and the Pungrikar in the north. Admire the beauty of nature and walk further to Tokra village to finally reach Raling Gompa. The Saga Dawa festival is a very important celebration in this region and lots of people around the globe comes to witness the beauty of the rituals, the masked dances, and the beautiful traditional dresses. Stay the night in Raling Gompa.

Day 5: Raling Gompa (3,930 meters/12, 893 feet) to Bargaun (2,940 meters/9,645 feet)

• Starting today you will be following the trail towards the completion of the journey. Follow the trail along the downward flowing Ghatte Khola river, hike up the trail to reach again in Nimatang. The trail from here is of around 30 min to take you to the Niamatang Gompa, and from the Gompa walk further for a couple of hours to finally reach Bargaun where you will be staying the night.

Day 6: Bargaun (2,940 meters/9,645 feet) to Karpunath (2,106 meters/6,909 feet).

The village of Karpunath is located at the confluence of the gushing Karnali river and Gyackru river. The trail takes you through the largest village of the Humala district. A short walk from the village will take you to the Gyackru river, which you will follow downstream to reach the Karpunath village. Spend the night in Karpunath.

Day 7: Karpunath (2,106 meters/6,909 feet) to Simikot (2,980 meters/9,776 feet).

The trail today is long and on a rough terrain. Follow the gradually ascending trail for a couple of hours to reach Syamne, and rise a steep climb from Syamne to finally reach the Simikot. Follow the uphill trail and enjoy the beautiful views of the Nyinba valley and Baraunse. Walk further for a couple of hours to finally reach Simikot. Spend the night in Simikot.

Day 8: Fly from Simikot to Nepalgunj via Kathmandu

The journey comes to an end as you head towards the capital yet again. Enjoy your last drive to Kathmandu on the mountain roads along the vivid landscapes, rural villages, and terraced farmlands. As you reach Kathmandu, spend the day exploring the capital yet again and doing some souvenir shopping. Spend a quaint night in the beautiful Kathmandu.

Day 9: Final Departure

The day has finally arrived when you are traveling to your hometown to resume the daily chores. Cherish the beautiful memories of the interesting trek. Nepal has many more treks to offer, plan your next journey soon enough.
