The Langtong Valley Trek is also known as an iceberg. The Langtong Himalayan region is located in the northern part of the Kathmandu Valley and south of the Tibetan border. There are great attractions around the Langtong Valley. The most famous peaks are Langtong Himalayas, Naya Khanga, Lirung, Gangchenpo, Longtang Ri and many more. The river is formed by the melting of glaciers from the Langtong Himalayas, hence the name Langtong River.
The journey from Longtung village to Gosaikunda is full of diversity. Therefore, it attracts a lot of visitors every year. During the rainy season, we suggest you visit the valley as it meets the valley full of beautiful flowers. These types of flowers make the view of the valley really attractive.
One of the most shocking things you see is a house that was not destroyed during the earthquake.
This is because the house lies under a rocky mountain and protects it. It is now the only traditional house in the village of Longtung.
After arrival in the International airport at Kathmandu you will be greeted by our representative from khapunath travels and tour and transfer to hotel. After having some rest there we will be discussing about the trek details and necessary equipments that you need while trekking. We will organize a welcome dinner at the traditional Nepalese restaurant with fine meal at the evening and overnight at hotel.
On this particular day we start our tour with experience guide and takes you to the several most historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu, world heritage sites of Kathmandu Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupati Nath, the renowned and wonderful Swoyambhunath which is also called 'Monkey Temple' and Buddhists shrine (Baudha Nath). Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche camp provides a panoramic view of the Mountains, small community and villages, beautiful river gorges and waterfalls, fascinating impenetrable forests, scenic terraced fields, where local citizens are ploughing the field and working. The first part of your drive up to Trishuli Bazaar is quite smooth and afterwards the trail heads along the gravel road. On the time of Monsoon, the trail is blocked due to the landslides. From Kathmandu you take either local bus or land cruiser. Overnight stay at tented camp or hotels.
On this particular day we walk throughout the quiet and passive path which gives a beautiful sight of Mountains, small Tamang communities. Once it became hectic when path linked Syabru Bensi, trekkers did not use this path any more. Beginning from Dhunche would help for acclimatization instead getting fast to Langtang. Syabru is a beautiful village stretched out along the ridgeline. You will continue through the village to your campsite about fifteen minutes beyond on the slopes below the village. The sunset is spectacular; brilliantly backlighting the houses perched on the ridgeline above. From here you can enjoy spectacular view of Langtang Lirung (7245m.), Tibetan Himal ranges and so on.
On this day path move down along the edge then go down to the river valley throughout terraced meadows and fascinating forests, then path climb up slowly throughout the river valley giving the mouthwatering scenic beauty of waterfall, dense forest to Lama Hotel. The trail descends along the ridge on Syabru's main street and then drop to the Ghopche Khola (2050 m.) and again descends to the Landslide (1810m.). Afterwards, you trek ascends gently to Rimche (2400m.) through Bamboo (1960m.) and at the end your trail is level to the Lama Hotel. En route you could see red pandas, monkey and bear if you are lucky. There are few lodges and shops which provides the trekker supplies
Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang village through Ghore Tabela takes us approximately six hours. As you keep on mounting there are irregular views of Langtang Lirung between the trees. At Ghore Tabela, the path appears from the forest. While trekking here, you can catch a sight of Monkeys and local birds. Once there was a Tibetan resettlement project here, but now it is a Nepalese army post though it has no permanent inhabitants. The trail continues to climb gently and the valley widens, passing a few temporary settlements used by herders who bring their livestock to graze in the high pastures during the summer months. There is a monastery which we can visit shortly before arriving at the Langtang Village, the headquarters of the Langtang National Park. The settlements of Langtang and its neighboring villages are the flat roofed Tibetan style, encircled by stone walls surrounded fields of buckwheat, potatoes, wheat, turnips and barley.
Easily walking a couple of hours by enjoying the scenic beauty of mountains we will arrive at Kyangjin for Lunch. After having a delicious lunch we will ascend towards Kyangjin RI at the elevation of 4300m. The trail climbs gradually through small villages and yak pastures as the valley opens out further and the views become more extensive. After crossing several small streams and moraines, the trail reaches the settlement at Kyangjin. Here there is a small monastery and a government-operated cheese factory. At this point, you can enjoy the panoramic view of Dorje Larpa (6990m), Langtang RI (6370m.), and Langtang Lirung (7245m) and so on.
On this particular day we take rest at Kyangjin Gompa and explore around to see the scenic beauty. On this day you can visit the beautiful monastery and the cheese factory.
